Debut EP Wörms by the Ottawa/Gatineau Death/Doom dealers Rötual, on CD and cassette via Remorseless Records
Rötual burst onto the scene, featuring veterans of many Canadian acts, stripping down their combined experience to create something entirely new. The result encompasses the groovy riffs of doom with the heavy, head-banging ferocity of death metal, melded together into compact slabs of mid-pace (de)compositions.
The EP dives in headfirst, opening with ear-worm riffs and pulverizing drums and bass, setting the stage for powerful vocals. The EP also includes two French
alternative versions of songs to be found on the forthcoming full-length album. Short and sweet, the infectious nature of Rötual's sound will earn them a well-deserved spot at the forefront of the death/doom scene.
